I have one of the 10,000 "new" Garands made around 10 years ago. in the blue & white box as mentioned. New stock, receiver and barrel, but some internal components (op rod, gas tube) were taken from SA warehouse stock and reparkerized. MSRP was around $1K IIRC.

Here's my Springfield Armory M1 Garand, manufactured in November 1944. She is pictured with an original M1942 16" bayonet ( very rare...most were cut down to 10" ) and a repo M7 fragmentation grenade launcher. Then a 1942 vintage Garand Ammo belt and some dummy grenades...

Springfield issues a warning about it in the box with new rifles. Another common cause is the incredibly short reset on an M1A’s trigger, if you let go even a tiny bit during recoil it will fire again.
Thought I would share my 1954 Springfield Garand. It is a CMP Certified "Correct Grade" rifle I purchased back when CMP was still doing that type of rating. At the time, buying a 'Correct Grade' meant it had all oringinal issued parts and was 'Certified' to be original and correct. It is a fine shooter and it is nice to own a piece of history.

But I am beginning to question the necessity for the Schuster on the M1A family of rifles, if you shoot standard bullet weight at mid-velocity. I reload all my 308/7.62 and shoot 150/168 grain bullets at ~2550 fps.
