After hearing of Bullet's actions, Marine Fleet Admiral Sakazuki orders a second Buster Call to attack the island. Sanji, Robin, Chopper, and Brook meet up, and the latter two split off to look for Luffy. They find Luffy and Usopp half dead, and Chopper treats them. After regaining consciousness, Luffy sets off to attack Bullet, but is overwhelmed.

The plan backfires, as Butler gets hold of the horns, quickly stuffs them down, and transforms into a large, horned, gorilla-like animal. With that he appears to be winning, until the island's animals and Luffy enter the fight. Luffy defeats Butler and breaks his horns, thus canceling his transformation, and sends him flying.
Luffy's crew soon arrives in Dressrosa and, entering the tournament under the alias "Lucy", he gets to the final round. Recognizing Luffy, Sabo reminisces about their shared childhood: Sabo and Ace refuse to befriend Luffy, but change their mind after he is kidnapped by a pirate and beaten for refusing to give away the location of their treasure.
Luffy is knocked into a stream and washes up in a pool where Hancock is bathing. Luffy and members of the Kuja Pirates defeat everyone except Ginger, who escapes using a CO2 attack which separates the Kujas from Luffy and Hancock.
