Michael Alig (April 29, 1966 – December 24, 2020) was an American club promoter who was convicted of felony manslaughter. He was one of the ringleaders of the Club Kids , a group of young New York City clubgoers who became a cultural phenomenon in the late 1980s and early 1990s. [ 1 ]
The group was first popularized by club promoter Michael Alig, James St. James, DJ Keoki, Ernie Glam, Julie Jewels, It Twins and Michael Tronn in the late 1980s, and, throughout the 1990s, grew to include Amanda Lepore, Waltpaper (Walt Cassidy), Christopher Comp, Jennytalia (Jenny Dembrow), Desi Monster (Desi Santiago), Astro Erle, Keda, Kabuki Starshine, and Richie Rich.

Andre "Angel" Melendez [2] (May 1, 1971 – March 17, 1996) was a member of the Club Kids who lived and worked in New York City.He was killed by Michael Alig and Robert "Freeze" Riggs on March 17, 1996.
