The Wisconsin–Eau Claire Blugolds football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin–Eau Claire competes at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
It was Eau Claire's first undefeated season since 1920. [1] Junior quarterback Jim Van Gorden led the WSCC in passing with an average of 133.3 passing yars per game. [2] He also set six school records. [3] The Blugolds also led the WSCC in pass defense, giving up only 52.5 passing yards per game. [2]
Based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the Axemen will play their home games at the Sonnentag Event Center. The Axemen will be the first arena/indoor football team based in Eau Claire.
