The word lesson comes from Latin lectio "the action of reading (out)". From there, the word was also used for the text itself, very often a passage from the Bible read out during a religious service ("first lesson", "second lesson"). Finally, any portion of a book to be studied was referred to as a lesson.
2 Corinthians 4 is the fourth chapter of the Second Epistle to the Corinthians in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. The T. D. Judah locomotive was built as a 4-2-4 by the Cooke Locomotive and Machine Works in 1863. It was purchased for use on the Central Pacific Railroad and was rebuilt as a 4-2-2 in 1872. By 1900, typical loads on express trains had grown beyond the capabilities of 4-2-2 locomotives and the configuration was superseded by the 4-4-2.
