Lake Guntersville State Park is a public recreation area located on the far north side of the city of Guntersville in Marshall County, Alabama. The state park occupies 5,909 acres (2,391 ha) on the eastern shore of Guntersville Lake , a 69,000-acre (28,000 ha) impoundment of the Tennessee River .

The lake stretches 75 miles (121 km) from Guntersville Dam to Nickajack Dam. It is Alabama's largest lake at 69,100 acres (279.6 km 2). [1] It is separated by the Guntersville Dam from Wheeler Lake, which is 68,300 acres (276.4 km 2) and the second largest lake. Both lakes are part of the Tennessee River.
The ballpark has a capacity of 3,100 people and opened in the early 20th century. The Huntington Cubs first season was 1990. The field was upgraded to a point for the Huntington Cubs but the lack of commitment from the city of Huntington and the local park board pushed the Chicago Cubs organization to move the team elsewhere.
Upper Mud River Wildlife Management Area, is located about 12 miles (19 km) south of Hamlin, West Virginia in Lincoln County, U.S.A. Upper Mud River WMA is located on 1,425 acres (577 ha) of steeply forested terrain. [2] The WMA is accessed from County Route 7 (Upper Mud River Road) about 12 miles (19 km) south of Hamlin.

Sauta Cave National Wildlife Refuge is a 264-acre (107 ha) [1] National Wildlife Refuge located in northeastern Alabama, near the Sauty Creek embayment of Guntersville Lake.
