It is used in decorative and informational graphics to indicate material related to the‘ NSW TrainLink systems, and in physical wayfinding to indicate the presence of regional railway services in an area in New South Wales. Recreated in Inkscape 0.92, based off the "T" roundel featured in the April 2019 version of the Sydney rail network map.
The New South Wales Metropolitan Rail Area (MRA) is the government-operated railway network centred on Sydney and bounded by Newcastle Interchange in the north, Bowenfels in the west, and Glenlee and Bomaderry in the south. The MRA contains the entirety of the state's electrified rail network (save for the isolated Skitube Alpine Railway).
Various combinations of the route between Melbourne, Canberra, Goulburn, Sydney, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast and Brisbane have been the subject of detailed investigation by prospective operators, government departments and advocacy groups. Most recently, phase 1 of a $20m high-speed rail study was released in 2011. [10]
