North Bend is a city in King County, Washington, United States, on the outskirts of the Seattle metropolitan area.The population was 7,461 at the 2020 census. [4] The city is 30 miles (48 km) east of Seattle on Interstate 90 and lies in the foothills of the Cascade Range near Snoqualmie Pass.
The North Bend site, later reduced to 50 acres (20 ha), was deemed ideal because of its isolation from nearby residents and accessibility via Interstate 90. [12] The King County Council approved construction of the fire training academy in North Bend in January 1982 and work began in April 1983.

Many of the exterior shots for David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks television series and movie (Fire Walk with Me) were filmed in Snoqualmie and in the neighboring towns of North Bend and Fall City. Movie actress Ella Raines was born on August 6, 1920, in Snoqualmie Falls, a mill town across the Snoqualmie River that is now part of Snoqualmie.
