He continues to attack Nnoitra, and after Nnoitra accidentally tears off Kenpachi's eyepatch while trying to attack him, the limits on his power are removed. Nelliel and Nnoitra fight, and Nelliel holds the advantage for a time, but fails to defeat Nnoitra when she reverts to her child form on the verge of triumph. Kenpachi Zaraki then arrives on the scene and the two duel, both finding great enjoyment in the fact that they can survive each other's attacks.
Meanwhile, Kenpachi overpowers Tōsen and Komamura with the former forced to use his barrier bankai Suzumushi Tsuishiki Enma Korogi, which removes all of Kenpachi's senses with the exception of his sense of touch. Despite being unable to see Tōsen, Kenpachi allows his opponent inflict wounds on him so he can grab Tōsen and defeat him.
