A former Jurys Inn in Brighton. The heritage of the Jurys Group can be traced back to 1881, when William Jury opened his first boarding house in Dublin.The first Doyle Hotel, The Montrose, was built in Stillorgan, Dublin, in 1964 by PV Doyle. 1993 saw the introduction of the Jurys Inns brand with the opening of the Galway and Christchurch (Dublin) Inns in April and May, respectively.
A significant single expansion for the group was the purchase of nine of the ten hotels of the Moran Bewleys Hotel Group in 2014 which were subsequently rebranded to the Maldron or Clayton brands. [4] The Clayton brand name also comes from an originally independent hotel acquired in Galway in 2014. [5]
Later in 1984 the company moved into luxury hotels with the development of the Westbury hotel which was to cater for increasing numbers of North American tourists. In 1999, the Jurys hotel group acquired Doyle Hotels and became the Jurys Doyle Hotel Group, the largest hotel group in Ireland. [7]

The Renvyle House Hotel, former home of poet Oliver St. John Gogarty, [2] lies a mile to the west. Tully's sister village, Tully Cross, is a mile to the east. The nearest town is Clifden, which is thirteen miles to the south.
Maam Cross station, on the Galway - Clifden line, opened on 1 January 1896. It finally closed on 29 April 1935. [1] The station facilities and a short section of railway line have been restored in a project launched in 2017 and ongoing as of 2022. [2] The location has a service station and hotel, with dining facilities and a gift shop.
