Danforth is known for having sent more of its students and staff to the Second World War than any other school in the British Commonwealth, and has a large stained-glass window in the library to act as its war memorial. During World War II, the facilities of Danforth were used for Combined Operations Headquarters training.

Supplementing the stained-glass windows is a series of "quatrefoil" painted decorations above each of the stained-glass windows and in the pointed arches between the pillars on each side of the centre aisle that support the roof. Twenty can be seen between these pillars, another twenty on the walls over the stained-glass windows.
Various sculptures of saints sit along the side aisles in front of the stained glass windows. The St. Michael's church choir sit on the right side of the altar. Behind the altar is a semi-circular oak reredos with one large episcopal chair of the Archbishop and six smaller chairs on either side for members of the clergy. [17]
The stained glass was designed by Carl Almquist and E. H. Jewitt of Shrigley and Hunt. The east window is a memorial to the founder of the church; it depicts the Last Supper . [ 7 ] [ 2 ] The single- manual organ was built in 1976 by N. Church.
When the dazzling 16-foot-high leaded stained- glass window arrived in Canton in 1913, it made front-page news—and postponed the new church’s dedication by a week because of a shipping delay.
