Pointe Mouillee State Game Area (/ ˈ p ɔɪ n t m w iː ˈ j eɪ /; point mwee-YAY or moo-LAY) is a state game area in the U.S. state of Michigan. [2] It encompasses 7,483 acres (30.3 km 2) of hunting, recreational, and protected wildlife and wetland areas at the mouth of the Huron River at Lake Erie, as well as smaller outlying areas within the Detroit River.
MSU's campus contains many heavily forested areas. This trail runs behind several residence halls, including Owen Hall, McDonel Hall, and Holmes Hall.. The campus of Michigan State University is located in East Lansing on the banks of the Red Cedar River, and comprises a contiguous area of 5,200 acres (21 km 2), 2,000 acres (8.1 km 2) of which are developed.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources lists the park among thirteen state parks established in 1920 following creation of the Michigan State Parks Commission in 1919. [2] Land for the park was donated to the city of Harrison in 1900 by a lumber company, then transferred to the state in 1922. The state park was dedicated in 1927. [3]
Anglers gear up each Michigan fishing season to traverse the state's waters, which teem with 154 species of fish including trout, salmon, walleye, blue gill and bass.
