Richard McKay Rorty (October 4, 1931 – June 8, 2007) was an American philosopher.Educated at the University of Chicago and Yale University, Rorty's academic career included appointments as the Stuart Professor of Philosophy at Princeton University, the Kenan Professor of Humanities at the University of Virginia, and as a professor of comparative literature at Stanford University.
Bastiaan Cornelis van Fraassen (/ v æ n ˈ f r ɑː s ən /; born 5 April 1941) is a Dutch-American philosopher noted for his contributions to philosophy of science, epistemology and formal logic. He is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at San Francisco State University and the McCosh Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Princeton University.
His research is in the interpretation of quantum theory and the nature of space, time, and space-time. He has explored the possibility of multiple time dimensions.
