Alcheringa, also known as "Alcher", is the annual cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. The festival was started in 1996 by a group of students of IIT Guwahati . [ 1 ] Spread over 3 days and 4 nights, Alcheringa is conducted towards the end of January every year.
It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India. IIT Guwahati is officially recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the government of India. [5] [6] IIT Guwahati has been ranked 7th in Engineering and 9th in Overall category in NIRF Rankings 2024. [7]

Techniche is the annual Techno-Management festival of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.The festival was started in 1999 by Dhirendra Sinha, a Mechanical Engineering B Tech student along with a group of students within the IIT Guwahati campus.
Guwahati Half Marathon was organised for the first time in August, 2009 under the Social Initiatives Module of Techniche, the annual Techno-Management festival of IIT Guwahati. The event received a great response from the Guwahati populace, with over 1000 participants in the two races organised - The Glory Run (18 km) and The Dream Run (6 km).
Technothlon is an International School Championship organized by the IIT Guwahati.Technothlon began in 2004 [1] with an aim to ‘Inspire Young Minds’.
