Spring Creek Hatchery State Park is a public recreation area lying within the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area on Route 14 in Skamania County, Washington. [1] The state park occupies ten acres (4.0 ha) directly across the Columbia River from Hood River, Oregon.
For years, the area was owned by the Koberg family who developed the beach and built a rustic style dance hall which was popular with people from nearby Hood River. The Highway Department acquired the land in 1953 and removed the dance hall the next year. In 1962, an entrance road, a parking area and other facilities became available. [2]
The Waucoma Hotel is a historic hotel building in Hood River, Oregon, United States. [1] The hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. [2] The Waucoma Hotel was remodeled and reopened in 1910 as the Hotel Oregon. The hotel closed in 1973. [3]
