The Rockwood School District is St. Louis County's largest public school system, serving 22,268 students. District received the Distinction in Performance Award by the State of Missouri, with a perfect score for six consecutive years, 2007–2012. Valley Park High School received the 2012 Missouri Gold Star School and the 2012 National Blue Ribbon Schools Award.
