The King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, managed by Hilton (KHBTCC) is a convention center located on the eastern shores of the Dead Sea, near Sweimeh. [1] It is named after the late king of Jordan, Hussein Bin Talal (1952–1999). The KHBTCC launched in 2005.
It was one of two major high-end hotels in Peoria at the time, along with the Jefferson Hotel, and is now the only one still operating. [2] Renovations took place in 1954, 1961 and again in 1972 when the Père Marquette joined the Hilton Hotel chain [2] as the Peoria Hilton. [6] Further renovation and restoration were undertaken in 1981. [4]
