Inver Hills Community College is a public community college in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Founded in 1970, the college is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System . The 90-acre (36 ha) campus consists of nine buildings.
The college was established on January 1, 1997, by the merging of Worthington Community College and Southwestern Technical College (itself a merger of four separate local vocational schools).
The college has had four presidents in its history. David L. Schroeder served from 1970 to 1999. Ronald E. Thomas, Ph.D., was DCTC's president from 1999 to 2013. The college was founded in 1966 as North Hennepin State Junior College, opening concurrently with two other state junior colleges in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Minnesota Metropolitan State College (now Metropolitan State University, a public, comprehensive university).
Minnesota State College Southeast is a public technical and community college with two campuses in Minnesota, one in Red Wing and another in Winona.The two campuses were originally two separate vocational institutes.
