Edinburgh Castle was an ocean liner operated by the Union-Castle Line in service between Britain and South Africa during the mid 20th century. She and her sister ship the RMS Pretoria Castle were built to replace the first Edinburgh Castle (1910 ship) and Warwick Castle (1931) which were lost during World War 2 .
The first large cruise ships were the Voyager-class from Royal Caribbean Group's Royal Caribbean International (RCI). These ships, which debuted in 1998 at over 137,000 GT, were almost 30,000 GT larger than the next-largest cruise ships, and were some of the first designed to offer amenities unrelated to cruising, such as an ice rink and climbing wall.
