La Puente High School is a public high school in La Puente, California, located in the San Gabriel Valley, serving grades 9–12.It was established in 1915. It is one of six high schools (including two alternative schools) in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District.
The school was founded in 1958 as the second of seven high schools in the former La Puente Union High School District. It is now one of four high schools in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, which was created in 1970 by a vote of the electorate unifying four high schools and the Hudson Elementary School District.
The school was named for Glen A. Wilson, former Superintendent of the La Puente Union High School District 1953-1972 (which became Hacienda La Puente Unified School District in 1970). [4] He was born in Alpaugh, California, on September 11, 1913. He was a resident of Hillcrest in La Verne, California when he died on September 7, 1996. [5]
