Tyndale New Testament Commentaries (or TNTC) is a series of commentaries in English on the New Testament. It is published by the Inter-Varsity Press . Constantly being revised since its completion, the series seeks to bridge the gap between brevity and scholarly comment.
The first three volumes to be released covered the books of Matthew, Mark, and Romans. The ACCS has also been translated into other languages, including Chinese and Russian and is available in both print and electronic formats. The ACCS is consistently listed as a highly recommended commentary series by biblical scholars. [7] [8]
This is evident in Romans 8 where Paul warns believers that if they live after the flesh they must die (i.e., become eternally separated from God; see Romans 8:12-13 cf. 11:22; 14:13, 15, 23). But in 8:28-39, Paul does not contemplate whether personal sin or unbelief could finally sever a Christian from their saving relationship with God.
Lenski's major work was a 12-volume series of commentaries on the New Testament, published originally by the Lutheran Book Concern. Each contains a literal translation of the Greek texts and commentary from a traditional Lutheran perspective. [5] Some of the volumes were published after his death.
Douglas J. Moo calls Romans 11:26a "the storm center in the interpretation of Romans 9–11 and of New Testament teaching about the Jews and their future." [ 1 ] Moo himself interprets the passage as predicting a "large-scale conversion of Jewish people at the end of this age" [ 2 ] through "faith in the gospel of Jesus their Messiah".
