Ferris State University (FSU or Ferris) is a public university with its main campus in Big Rapids, Michigan, United States. It was founded in 1884 as Big Rapids Industrial School by Woodbridge N. Ferris and became a public institution in 1950. The university also has a satellite campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The 1995 Ferris State Bulldogs football team represented Ferris State University as a member of the Midwest Intercollegiate Football Conference (MIFC) during the 1995 NCAA Division II football season. In their second year under head coach Jeff Pierce, the Bulldogs compiled a 10–0 record in the regular season.
The population was 7,727 at the 2020 census, [2] down from 10,601 in 2010. [5] The city is surrounded by Big Rapids Charter Township but they are completely separate jurisdictions. Big Rapids is home of the main campus of Ferris State University, a four-year public university.
