Jeffrey Roy Holland (born December 3, 1940) is an American educator and religious leader. He served as the ninth president of Brigham Young University (BYU) and is the acting president [ 2 ] of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

The RSC (sometimes called the Center for Religious Studies in its early years) [2] [3] was founded in 1975 by Jeffrey R. Holland, dean of Religious Education at BYU. [4] Upon the recommendation of BYU president Dallin H. Oaks, the establishment of the RSC was approved by BYU's Board of Trustees in early 1976. [3]
Holland is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a son of Jeffrey R. Holland and Patricia T. Holland. He served as a missionary for the Church in Czechoslovakia and was a bishop in Nevada. [6] Since August 2020, he has been serving as president of the church's Worcester Massachusetts Stake. [7]
