In 1962, Murray signed Barbara George to the label. He paid $25,000 for her contract from A.F.O. Records. [5] [6] A.F.O. Records were distributed by Sue. [7] As the Sixties progressed, Sue's sub labels produced hits such as "Mockingbird" by brother-and-sister duo Inez & Charlie Foxx and "She Blew a Good Thing" by The Poets on Symbol Records.
Eastern Records was a subsidiary label of Sue Records, founded by Juggy Murray. [1] In 1965, the label released the singles "The Real Thing" by Tina Britt which reached #20 on the Billboard R&B chart , [ 2 ] and "Time Waits For No One" by Eddie & Ernie which reached #34 on the R&B chart in 1965.
