Washington is a city in, and the county seat of, Washington County, Kansas, United States. [1] As of the 2020 census , the population of the city was 1,071. [ 3 ]
The community is part of the St. Joseph, MO–KS Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 248 at the 2020 census. Faucett derives its name from Robert Faucett, who was a local miller when the Chicago Great Western Railroad established the community in 1890. By the late 1950s the MKT Railroad ended its service to Louisburg, but because K-68 went through town and US Highway 69 and K-68 intersected near town, growth continued.
