Post Falls is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. It is the gateway city to Northern Idaho off Interstate 90 , just west of Coeur d'Alene , and east of Spokane, Washington . The population was 38,485 at the 2020 census , [ 3 ] making it Idaho's ninth-largest city and the second largest city in North Idaho behind Coeur d’Alene.

The historic Post Falls Dam and surrounding Falls Park on the Spokane River is a local landmark. Hayden is the third largest city in the Coeur d'Alene metropolitan area, and it is known for the eponymous Hayden Lake that was once the historic center of the community. The shores of the lake are filled with summer cabins and large mansions.
