The Turnpike Troubadours are an American country music band from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, founded in 2005. [1] They started their own imprint, Bossier City Records, in 2007 and have released six studio albums. Their self-titled 2015 album peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200.
Before the Turnpike Troubadours went on hiatus, there were multiple reports of Felker appearing intoxicated during his performances, along with the band cancelling over a dozen shows. The album's only single, "Just Because I'm a Woman", was released in May 1968 [1] and debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart dated June 29. It peaked at number 17 on the chart dated September 14, its twelfth week on the chart. The single charted for a total of 14 weeks.
