Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) is a public medical school located in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. It is affiliated to the Rajshahi Medical University . The college is affiliated to a large hospital which is the central provider for advanced health care in the northern part of Bangladesh.
The Ramaiah Medical College (RMC) was established in 1979 by the Gokula Education Foundation and was founded by the Late Sri. M S Ramaiah. [1] It is an autonomous institute and affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Jayanagar, Bangalore.
All medical colleges until 1986 were established by the government. Currently, there are 39 public medical colleges, these provide 5380 seats every year for students undertaking MBBS. While the 68 private medical colleges provide 6040 seats. 6 colleges are run by Bangladesh Armed Forces which offer 375 seats.

The formal inauguration of the Rangaraya Medical College was done on 17 November 1958 by Sri. N. Sanjeeva Reddy, the then chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. In the year 1977 the Government of Andhra Pradesh took over the privately managed RMC. In 1981 Rangaraya Medical College became a full-fledged Government Medical College. [4]
