Clovis is a city in Fresno County, California, United States. It was established in 1890 as a freight stop for the San Joaquin Valley Railroad by a group of Fresno businessmen and Michigan railroad speculator Marcus Pollasky.
It is represented by David Valadao, who formerly represented California's 21st congressional district from 2013 to 2019 and 2021 to 2023. As of 2025, this district is the most Democratic-leaning congressional district represented by a Republican, with a partisan lean of D+5. [ 2 ]
