It barely touches the outside edge of the rail. There will be much less wear with this design! You can also now shoot any vane you want. I have a picture of the string after about 100 shots and there is no wear. Even with the hollow rail the Vapor is fairly quiet for this type of speed. I have certainly shot louder crossbows.
Was also looking at the Barnett razr which to me was too fast= more problems lol. Very happy with my Tenpoint. I read some not so good reviews on the grim reapers and rages with crossbows so still trying to make up my mind. Tenpoint says the killzones and spitfires work best. Read some not so good reviews on the killzones as well.

The only crossbows I have ever owned are Tenpoint Vapors so I have no other crossbows for comparisons. I started traditional over sixty years ago, (I'm currently73), and still shoot traditional. It's a lot of fun! I started compounds right before PSE came out with their X-Force bows, (bows that shot 330 fps).
