I have used gears from the toolbox in my design and modified them slightly. I used 'save as' to save it seperately. This seperate file, I've used in my assembly. But a lot of time it happens that when I open the assembly the modifications dissapear and the tree shows the files from the solidworks tools library and not the files I saved.
I made a part with different configurations and saved it in our Solidworks PDM Library. I checked it in. When I use this part in an assembly (multiple times), choose the right configurations, when I save the assembly, Solidworks asks to resave each of the used library parts. Of course I don't want to resave these parts every time they are used.
I appreciate that you let me know the links of files instead of telling me to click library icon in Solidworks. Since my computer with Solidworks software is not connected to internet. I need to use the other computer to do the download. I am looking for parts such as Elbows, Tee, Nipples, Valves, and Pipes indifferent size.
The problem is I can't find anywhere to select this. On the add to library dialogue under the "Save To" section my file name is entered and there is an empty white box below the heading "Design Library folder:" It appears that this is where I should be able to select the file I want to save it to but when I click both left and right nothing ...
This week I upgraded our company to Solidworks 2010, this process when smoothly with few exceptions. We (4 users) use a design library to keep common parts that do not require issue control such as nuts and bolts in. We don't use Toolbox because it wasn't (still isn't?) available with entry-level Solidworks - only with SW professional etc.
One of these subfolders are a component library with hundreds of parts. How can I move/copy this folder (component library) to a different location? I assume you have to use the Solidworks Explorer to not break the connection with the assemblies that are using these components? I could move them one by one, but that would take forever...
Design library parts are changing and failing with no one knowing what happened. Similar issues with toolbax parts, but primarally fastener descriptions are comming up wrong. (1/4-20x1" long bolt being called out as 1/2-13x4"...HOW?)

I'm tempted to not even use Design Library for parts.
I'm starting to establish a SW library at work and I'm trying to create various diameter guide pins. With that being said I'm trying to set the parts up by diameter and when pulled into the assembly i can pick the diameter size and specify the length. the length would be the unknown variable but the diameter sizes would be standard.

Does anyone know of a library of modeled parts based on NAS and MS specs? I work in the aerospace industry and these are the standards used for fasteners. I can model them up myself as needed but being able to buy a pre-modeled library would be a great time save.
