I always considered them the best of the series and hated how angsty the rest of the series became, especially the John Williams score and the wordbuilding. But nowdays people consider the worst of the series for some reason and say they're childish.

    Harry Potter is no exception to this rule. Read the books first then binge watch all the movies. Either, but do read the books it's a lot more enjoyable because of the added 'scenes' and funny parts not in the movies. Read the books first, the films have issues for people who haven't read the books.

It is (I think) relatively common knowledge that in America, the first book in the Harry Potter series is called Harry Potter in the Sorcerer’s Stone, while in England it is called Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. As an American, the book I own is called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

    Better way to do it would be to read DH all the way through and then just marathon parts 1&2 back to back. It works out well since the end scene of part 1 is basically the opening scene of part 2. It's basically the end of chapter 23. I think it's right after Dobbie dies.

The second and third directors (Cuarón and Yates) were much darker than the first, as Columbus had done more kid's movies at the time. has to do with lighting and angles and the like. The sets also evolve over time, even though the basics stay the same.
