Located on a hill overlooking the Potomac River is a large public park with a semi-shaded, two-level playground, open grass, benches, and a sand volleyball court. There aren't restrooms or a parking lot, but most walk to the park or park on the nearby streets.

Windmill Hill Park is a lovely park near Old Town Alexandria with huge fields, views of the Potomac and Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and 3 play structures. 2 are fully fenced with toddler swings, sand pit ship and lots of shade from 9:30-11 AM.
The Union Street Corridor Study, currently underway, addresses traffic calming needs along the Union Street, including the areas adjacent to Windmill Hill Park. The Study is expected to be complete in Fall 2012. Installation of a 6 foot width brick walk at the top of the wall (west end) and along the perimeter (south end).
