U.S. Route 36 (US 36) is a part of the United States Numbered Highway System that runs from Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado to Uhrichsville, Ohio.In the state of Indiana, it is part of the Indiana State Road system that runs across the central portion of the state from the Illinois state line near Dana to the Ohio state line near Spartanburg.
The roadway starts at State Road 67 at a traffic light, and is the southern terminus of Ameriplex Parkway. It heads northeast, meeting three traffic lights. It then comes to exit 68 on Interstate 70 and has a connection to the Indianapolis International Airport. At this interchange, Ameriplex Parkway ends and Ronald Reagan Parkway begins.
The route has a diamond interchange at Lafayette Center Road East and at Indianapolis Road, before turning due east and passing just south of Fort Wayne International Airport. The next interchange is at the northern terminus of the southern section of State Road 1 (SR 1) and serves the airport via Bluffton Road.
The road turns due east after crossing the river and has a traffic signal at Fairfeld Avenue. This intersection is the eastern terminus of Airport Expressway, the route continues east as Paulding Road. Paulding Road heads east, becoming a four-lane undivided highway and has an intersection with U.S. Route 27 (US 27). [1] [3] [4] [5]
Renamed in 2007 to honor Indianapolis Urban League founder/president Sam H. Jones, Sr., it is approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km) in length and connects Raymond Street (at Holt Road) to High School Road just west of I-465 at the former site of the 1957–2008 passenger terminal at Indianapolis International Airport.

[11] The overarching objective was to build a standard passenger and cargo airport infrastructure in Asaba, Delta State, capable of handling codes C, D and E aircraft, and to serve as an additional source of revenue for the state.
