The Tennessee State Museum is a large museum in Nashville depicting the history of the U.S. state of Tennessee. The current facility opened on October 4, 2018, at the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Jefferson Street at the foot of Capitol Hill by the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park .
Cheekwood is a 55-acre (22 ha) historic estate on the western edge of Nashville, Tennessee that houses the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens.Formerly the residence of Nashville's Cheek family, the 30,000-square-foot (2,800 m 2) Georgian-style mansion was opened as a botanical garden and art museum in 1960.
The museum was established as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in October 2002 by Jeff Lane, [2] beginning with his personal collection of 70–80 vehicles in Nashville's former American Bread Company bakery (1951-1994). [1] [3] The collection also includes automobile art and memorabilia.
