Upgrades: 1. DIP trigger guard and smooth target trigger. Drop in replacement for the plastic trigger guard, you just need to move the safety and can re-use the factory trigger if you want. Search "dip marlin trigger". I replaced all the trigger guards on my 60's and have the target trigger on one.

I have even used Wolfe ammo and seems to work good with an occasional misfire. My model 60 will regurgitate Remingtons enmass, so I avoid them at all cost.

Marlin Model 60 problem. Hello. I bought a new model 60 a month ago. Shot a couple of magazines of ammo through it with no problems. Then it started to jam and not ejecting the shells. Noticed that firing pin was hitting so far on the edge of the cartridges that it was splitting the cases on the side. Took it apart and cleaned but still doing it.

Any standard or high velocity ammo will be ok. But, the hyper vel stuff like Stingers and Aguila super hyper (1750fps) can damage the recoil buffer. The buffers are available, last time I looked, at MidwayUSA for about $9.00 each. Mine just loves the cci hi vel stuff. And I used to have a different 60 years ago that was a nail driver with Stingers.
