04-28-202009:08 PM. Though there seems to be some skepticism around reviews in general these days, I tend to trust Etsy shoppers. Fake positives seem harder to leave on Etsy. Some sites don’t require a purchase to leave a review, but Etsy does — though purchases can also be faked.
Most people do not leave reviews. When I sold on Amazon, it was only about 10%. With Etsy, it's about 25%. Be careful what you ask for. A buyer getting a review request from you then another from Etsy may get annoyed enough to leave a bad review. This is 2020. People are angry, frustrated, scared, and annoyed.
Obviously for many of us that sell on Etsy, as well as, other online selling platforms, we know the value of recent reviews and how the consumer is conditioned to positively respond to them. 01-25-2018 12:39 AM. Shop Manager is specifically for selling activities. Buying activities are on the regular Etsy pages. Click your shop name at bottom left of the Shop Manager page, then when your shop page opens, click YOU at top right and Purchases and Reviews, just like you always have. 01-25-2018 12:46 AM.
Guest Checkout and Reviews. 03-18-201901:20 PM. As a Shop Owner of a brand new shop, a lot of my orders have been with a Guest Checkout. I have been sending them a follow up with a Thank You and a nice note about leaving a review, however, it's a bit much to ask someone to create an Etsy account just to leave you a review.

Actually according to 15 USC 45b (b) (2) (i) and 15 USC 45b (b) (2) (iii), Etsy is required by law to remove reviews that have been proven false. To leave them up violates the law, as much as removing a legitimate review. An opinion is just that, an opinion, it stops being an opinion when it includes facts that can be proven false.
Some do. I did a few times early on. Some ask for reviews and get results. Some say it's offensive, spammy, or annoying to ask. Some say it's against Etsy's rules (it's not explicitly stated anywhere to my knowledge). Some feel it's "begging" for reviews. Some have claimed they definitely won't leave a review if asked. Some welcome the reminder.
