"Revolution of the Daleks" is a special episode of the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who, first broadcast on BBC One on 1 January 2021. It was written by Chris Chibnall , and directed by Lee Haven Jones.
[1] The following episode, "Volcano", returns to the main narrative of The Daleks' Master Plan, although its ending briefly features a contemporary New Year's Eve. [1] [2] The first episodes of Day of the Daleks (1972) and The Face of Evil (1977) were first shown on New Year's Day, but make no reference to the holiday season.
The episode features the Daleks in the final part in a loosely connected trilogy of New Year's specials that began in "Resolution" and continued in "Revolution of the Daleks". [9] Introduced in the episode are a new version of the Daleks, referred to as "Executioner Daleks".
Revelation of the Daleks is the sixth and final serial of the 22nd season in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in two weekly parts on 23 and 30 March 1985. This was the final serial to be broadcast in 45-minute episodes; this format would return 20 years later when the series resumed in 2005.
