WNAV-FM signed on along with WNAV (1430 AM) on April 22, 1949, with studios located at 89 West Street in Annapolis. It was co-owned with Washington's WOL (1450 AM) and WOL-FM (98.7 FM) by the Capital Broadcasting Company.
