This is a list of metropolitan areas in Pakistan. These metropolitan areas are home to about 20% of the population or about 46 million Pakistanis. Every Pakistani city with a population of 500,000 or more is considered a metropolitan area. This list is according to the 2017 Census of Pakistan. [1] [2] [3]

Sri Ganganagar is the northernmost city of the Indian state of Rajasthan, near the international border of India and Pakistan. It is the administrative headquarters of Sri Ganganagar district. It is named after Maharaja Shri Ganga Singh Bahadur, Maharaja of Bikaner. [3] The city is also known as the "Food Basket of Rajasthan".

The earlier HRA classification of cities was changed from A-1 to X; A, B-1, and B-2 to Y; and C and unclassified cities to Z.
