Stefan approaches Mason to apologize on Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) behalf for trying to kill him and to offer a truce, but Mason declines. Stefan insists and "threatens" Mason, who finally shakes hands with Stefan. Damon rejoins Stefan to ask what he was doing with Mason and says that despite the truce, Damon still wants to kill him.
Damon tries to find a way to prove that Mason (Taylor Kinney) is a werewolf and tells Alaric to tell Jenna (Sara Canning) to hold a barbecue party and invite Mason. At the barbecue, Damon plans to stab Mason with a silver knife since according to the stories, silver can harm werewolves.
Stefan tells Caroline that they have to run because there is a werewolf in the woods. They drive the werewolf away from Matt but they run into Tyler who slows them down and gives Mason the opportunity to attack Caroline. Stefan pushes him away but it is Tyler's order that makes him go away. Tyler later finds Mason's car and Mason arrives naked.
