St. Alexius Hospital was an American hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1869 by the Catholic order of the Alexian Brothers, a healing order of Catholic men. In 1870, it began operation as a two-bed facility. In 1874, a larger building was erected.
Pope Paul II accepted Hacker's resignation as bishop of the Diocese of Bismarck on June 28, 1982. He spent his retirement at Christ the King Parish in Mandan, North Dakota and later at Emmaus Place, a retirement home for priests in Bismarck.
