Namely in terms of bullet drop, and steel plate knockdown power. Picked up a Hi-Point in .40 the other day, and it's got a 4x30 scope on it. Figure it could come in handy for 3-gun, if ...

  4. Kel-Tec Sub 2000 Range Report - Updated 6/21 | Springfield XD...

Maximum point blank range (where the bullet has dropped 3") for 9mm Luger is just under 100 yards for 147gr and 117 yards for 124 and 115 gr. That's shooting from a handgun, so the rifle will have about 150 fps greater velocity and a proportionately longer MPBR. So,you should have no problem at all hitting dead on at 100 yards.

  5. Bolt gun - .243 or .308 SHTF? - Springfield XD Forum

    www.xdtalk.com/threads/bolt-gun-243-or-308-shtf.251065

The original post was .243 or .308 for SHTF. Along with a weapon around $500, bolt action rifle for targets around 200 yards. For the price and caliber to the original post, I'd look at the Ruger American (under $400) and if these were choices in caliber, I'd prefer .308 over .243.

  6. Mod.2 9mm vs XDS 9mm - Springfield XD Forum

Forgot to say I have the XDMc 9mm, so probably would be looking at the Mod 2-9mm - 3". That is the one I'd want to compare to my XDMc. Although - if it handles the way people say, and the bulk does feel appreciably less than the XDMc I might consider the 3.3" - .45 because of capacity.

just make sure you can hunt with a .223 in your state. Many states have a caliber minimum, even though a .223 with drop a large man, dumb politicans dont make the distinction and dumb folks if allowed will surely try to take a 185 lb -240 lb deer with a .22 lr if left to their own devices, some jack ass will try it.

  8. 9mm 3.3" effective range | Springfield XD Forum

I selected the XDS 9mm 3.3" after watching many reviews from seasoned shooters hit amazing groups at greater than self defense distances. I have honed my skills to be able to effectively fire a full mag, any capacity, inside of a 2" group at 7, 10, and 12 yards. Today I had an opportunity to shoot from 0 - 100 yards at a great variety of ...

These loads were fired from my XDS 9mm over a rest at 15 yards. The 3.9 and 4.0 125 grain loads seemed to group the best, 1.5 to 2" with one flier out of the group. Handheld, I use the "Ayoob" method of taking the best 3 of 5, gets me to 1". Functioning was 100% with all loads. the 3.8 gr loads were soft, the 4.0 loads had more authority.

  11. xd 9mm at 25 yards - Springfield XD Forum

Actually did shoot the .40 at 50 yards about a month ago. I thought there would be some drop at that distance, and as a result of me aiming slightly higher, the first two rounds were over the target. Subsequent rounds (the rest of the magazine) were in the black. Nice bonus knowing it'll hit consistently at that distance if you do your part.
