DETROIT, June 3, 2024 – Following an extensive six-year renovation by Ford Motor Company, Michigan Central Station will offer the public a first look at the interior restoration of its historic ground floor this week.
Michigan Central Station is the centerpiece of Michigan Central’s 30-acre innovation hub. Originally opened in December 1913, Michigan Central Station once served as the gateway to Detroit, with more than 4,000 passengers a day at its peak in the 1940s.
The opening of the reimagined Station marks the next chapter for the historic building itself, as well as Michigan Central as its ecosystem continues to gain momentum as Detroit’s newest anchor institution and a global destination.
DETROIT, May 20, 2024 — On Tuesday, May 21 at 12 p.m. ET, Michigan Central will open ticket registration for the Michigan Central OPEN, a community celebration June 6 – 16 to commemorate the landmark reopening of Michigan Central Station following an extensive restoration by Ford Motor Company.
