The Malaysia National Basketball League (Petronas-Molten Malaysia National Basketball League for sponsorship reason), often abbreviated to the MNBL, was the pre-eminent men's basketball league in Malaysia, organised by the Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA). The competition started as Malaysian Basketball League (MBL) in 1981.
In 2013, Malaysia National Basketball League ceased to operate. After four years of absence, MABA created a national level league called Malaysia Pro League. [1] In 2022, Malaysia Basketball Association announced the establishment of a new professional basketball league called Major Basketball League Malaysia, replacing Malaysia Pro League.
The team had its prime time between 1960 and 1995 when it qualified for the FIBA Asia Championship, Asia's most prestigious basketball tournament, 18 times in a row. In 1986 it qualified for the World Cup , its most noteworthy accomplishment to date.

The 2013 Malaysia National Basketball League Regular Season was the 33rd season of competition of the Malaysia National Basketball League (MNBL) since its establishment. A total of five teams competed in the league. The regular season began on 6 September 2013 with the 1st Series in Miri, Sarawak and ended on 29 September 2013 in Kuala Lumpur.
The SEABA Championship is a tournament between national teams. It was first held in Segamat in 1994, and every two years thereafter. The fourth edition, which was held in Manila in 2001, changed the year of the subzone qualifiers in odd-numbered years, beginning that same year; and directly it became the main qualifying tournament for the FIBA Asia Championship.
