Alliance is a city in eastern Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 21,672 as of the 2020 census . It was established in 1854 by the merger of three smaller communities and was a manufacturing and railroad hub for much of the 20th century.
Alliance - southeast; Washington Township - south; Marlboro Township - west; It is the only township in the county with a border on Mahoning County. The city of Alliance is in the southeast. The unincorporated community of Limaville, a census-designated place (CDP), is in the north, and the CDP of Bolton is in the center of the township.
The Alliance Clay Product Company was chartered in 1905, as a company for "the purpose of the manufacturing, selling and dealing in brick, paving blocks, building blocks, sewer pipe, drain tile and all kinds of clay product". [2] The buildings themselves were built beginning in 1906, the year the company was founded by James B. Wilcox.

Alliance went on to expand its business in 1944 with an additional production plant in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In March 2020, Alliance announced that they would retool their manufacturing facility to create products (such as Rubber Strips) used to manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE) to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic .
