The Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area (not to be confused with Three Lakes near Miami) is the second largest remaining expanse of dry prairie in the United States. It is located approximately 70 miles (110 km) south of the Kissimmee - Disney World area of Central Florida .
Hoosier Prairie is a unit of Indiana Dunes National Park in Lake County, Indiana. It began in the 1970s as wasteland that conservation organization found of a unique interest. From a core of 304 acres (123 ha), it has grown to 1,547 acres (626 ha) of important prairie habitat. [1]
In east Lake County are the Miller Woods ponds (nearly a dozen). North, closer to Lake Michigan, in the old Calumet River bed, are the Marquette Lakes in Marquette Park. Passing into Porter County, there is Long Lake at the West Beach facility of the national park. The state park has a lake in the middle of its nature preserve along trail #10.

Tippecanoe River is a state park in Pulaski County, Indiana, United States.It is located 58 miles (93 km) south-southwest of South Bend, Indiana.It was formed in 1943 when the National Park Service gifted the land to Indiana's Department of Conservation land to form a state park; other land along the river becoming the Winamac Fish and Wildlife Area.
The refuge is located north of the historic firing line and surrounds a 1,000-acre (4 km 2) parcel operated by the Indiana Air National Guard. A zone used for firing tests remains off limit to the public due to the prohibitive cost of cleanup. [2]
Other areas include the Cane Ridge Wildlife Management Area managed by Duke Energy and located immediately south of Gibson Lake and the Gibson Generating Station in northwestern Gibson County, 9 miles (14 km) east of the main body. The refuge is authorized for 23,962 acres (96.97 km 2).
