The world is flat, with a dome-like sky, and it has been shaped in large and small ways by the mythic actions of the gods. The 'historical' world of Glorantha is in a more or less fallen state, having recovered only partially from a universal battle against Chaos in the mythic Godtime. Humans are the dominant race, but other sentient beings abound.
The content is presented as a series of questions pertaining to the subject of the particular chapter of the books. Amid the questions, pictures and photographs, there are details from established comic strips and complete comic strips, occasionally with its dialogue adjusted to the chapter's theme.

Theros was adapted as a campaign setting for the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons with the publication of the sourcebook Mythic Odysseys of Theros in 2020. It was the second Magic setting adapted to D&D , after the release of Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica in 2018.
