Statistics Canada divides the province of Manitoba into 23 census divisions. Unlike in some other provinces, census divisions do not reflect the organization of local government in Manitoba. The Pas is located in Census Division No. 21 which had a 2011 census population of 21,393 and is part of Manitoba's Northern Region. The City of Flin Flon had a 2011 census population of 5,363. The population of the Manitoba part of the Urban Area was also 5,363. Flin Flon is also located in Census Division No. 21.
