Abraham Charles Myers [1] (also Abram) was born in Georgetown, South Carolina, on 14 May 1811. [2] Myers was born into a Jewish family; his great-grandfather had been the first rabbi of Congregation K.K. Beth Elohim in Charleston, South Carolina.
